SUNY Adirondack Takes Two From Fulton
The SUNY Adirondack Baseball Team was able to beat out the Fulton Montgomery Raiders twice in a double header this afternoon by the scores of 14-4 and 12-8.
In the first game of the afternoon the Timberwolves got the offense going early, scoring 2 runs in the first inning off a Zach Malek double.
Zach Vavasour picked up the first win of the day. He was able to go six innings, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out ten.
SUNY Adirondack totaled 13 hits. Corhouse, Malek, Bowers, Myers, and Acosta all had a multi-hit game for the Timberwolves. Corhouse was the team leader with 3 hits in as many at bats.
Corhouse kept the hot hitting going into the second game of the afternoon picking up 3 more hits that lead to 4 RBI's.
After leading 3-2 after the 1st inning, the Fulton Montgomery Raiders were able to tie it at 3 in the top of the second before the Timberwolves would take the lead for good in the bottom of the second. Corhouse and McGee both drove in runs during the inning.
Josh Myers led the Timberwolves to the win on the second game. He went four and a third innings, allowing six hits that produced three runs while picking up four strikeouts. Christian Piantino, Brendon Shufelt, and Cameron Fillippone all contributed out of the bullpen, helping the Timberwolves close this one out.
SUNY Adirondack had 12 hits on the second game. Corhouse, McSally, Malek, and McGhee each had a multi-hit game for the Timberwolves.
These two wins today now put SUNY Adirondack at 9-12 on the season and 6-0 in conference play. They will look to keep the momentum going into tomorrow when they will travel to face off against the Fulton-Montgomery Raiders to finish the season series. Those games are scheduled for 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM start times.
