Softball Has a Huge Offensive Day, Wins Twice at Jefferson
The SUNY Adirondack Softball team went 2-0 this afternoon at Jefferson Community College in Watertown, NY.
SUNY Adirondack won the first game 16-12. The Timberwolves took a 1-1 game into the third and would take the lead for good, scoring three runs in the inning. They followed that up by adding on five more runs in the fourth inning and four in the fifth. They collected 20 hits during the game, a season high.
Madeline Mann and Taylor Ringer led the way for the Timberwolves on offense. Mann went 4-5 in at bats leading to three runs scored and four batted in. Ringer went 5-6, scoring four runs and adding an RBI.
Bri MacDuff is credited with the win, picking up six strikeouts on the way.
The Timberwolves would continue the hot hitting into game two, this time winning 27-14 while collecting a new season high 22 hits.
An 11-2 lead after the first inning, highlighted by a Kylee Coon home run, set the tempo for the game and SUNY Adirondack would not let up.
Kiley King was the team leader with four hits in five at bats. Kaylee Coon, Bri MacDuff, and Hannah Grady each had a three hit game for the Timberwolves. Madeline Mann had a big game as well, going 2-4 with a homerun.
Kaylee Coon earned the win, going all five innings picking up two strikeouts on the way to victory.
The Timberwolves now sit at 3-13 on the season and will look to build off these two victories today.
SUNY Adirondack will be back in action on Thursday April 25th when they will host Columbia-Greene Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM at Morse Athletic Complex in Glens Falls, NY.
