Timberwolves Baseball goes 1-1 against Mohawk Valley
The SUNY Adirondack Baseball team went 1-1 today against conference opponent Mohawk Valley Community College.
The first game of the afternoon was an 11-0 win for the Mohawk Valley Hawks. It was a tough outing for the Timberwolves who could only manage 3 hits in the game.
The second game of the afternoon was also a struggle early on for the Timberwolves who found themselves down 4-0 after a big second inning from the Hawks. SUNY Adirondack bounced back well this time around though and was able to score 5 runs in the third inning to take the lead for good. Brent McGhee drove in 2 runs to get things going. Chewy Stubblebine grounded out, scoring one run, and Jared Winkle singled scoring two runs in the frame.
Zach Malek picked up the victory for SUNY Adirondack while throwing a complete game.
SUNY Adirondack tallied nine hits in the second game. Joe Battista and Evan Bowers both had multiple hits for SUNY Adirondack. Battista led the Timberwolves with three hits in three at bats.
With the split today, the Timberwolves now sit at 10-15 on the season and 7-3 in conference play. They will be back in action tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Mohawk Valley to finish the season series. First pitch is scheduled for 12 PM.
