Timberwolves Win a Pair at Home Against SUNY Schenectady
The SUNY Adirondack Baseball team picked up a pair of wins this afternoon, defeating the SUNY Schenectady Royals by the scores of 8-6 and 9-6.
In the first game of the afternoon the Timberwolves had to fight back after giving up four runs in the second inning. The game was tied at six with SUNY Adirondack batting in the bottom of the sixth when Brent McGhee singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs to give the Timberwolves the lead.
Brandon Decker took the win for SUNY Adirondack. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over three innings, striking out four and walking zero.
Max Perrotta started the game for the Timberwolves giving up six runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out four and walking zero.
SUNY Adirondack racked up nine hits. Brent McGhee and Chewy Stubblebine both led the team with two hits each.
For our nightcap at East Field Stadium, SUNY Adirondack grabbed an early lead on their way to a fourth conference win in as many games. SUNY Adirondack scored on a double by Eric Corhouse, a sacrifice fly by Josh Myers, a walk by Chewy Stubblebine, a walk by Anthony Combs, a walk by Evan Bowers, a walk by Corhouse, and a single by Myers in the first inning.
Alec Burchhardt was the winning pitcher for SUNY Adirondack, his first win as a collegiate baseball player. He surrendered one run on two hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.
Josh Brase started the game for the Timberwolves giving up five runs on four hits over three and a third innings, striking out two.
These wins today now put SUNY Adirondack at 7-12 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. They will look to keep the momentum going on Saturday, April 6th when they will take on Fulton-Montgomery Community College. First pitch for those games are scheduled for 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM at East Field Stadium.
