Volleyball goes 2-1 at Cayuga POD
The SUNY Adirondack Volleyball team went 2-1 on Sunday in a POD at Cayuga Community College.
The first game of the day for the Timberwolves was a loss to Jefferson Community College, 3-0. The sets went 25-17, 25-15, 25-18. Sophomore outside hitter Jana Depalo led the Timberwolves with 10 kills in the loss. Sophomore Megan Friske led the team in digs with 12 and freshman setter Raeann Bombard had 20 assists to lead the team.
The second game on the afternoon went much better than the first for SUNY Adirondack, this time beating Onondaga Community College in three sets, 25-16, 27-25, 25-11. Sophomore Karley Hertzner led the Timberwolves in kills with 12 in the victory. Sophomore Morgan Bellanger led the team with 17 digs. Megan Friske accounted for 23 of the total 27 assists to help lead the Timberwolves.
The Timberwolves were able to keep it rolling into the last game of the day where they came out on top of another three set sweep, this time over Cayuga. The sets were scored 25-16, 25-9, 25-16. Jana Depalo led the team in kills again, this time with 10. Freshman Alaina Keating had 9 kills in the victory. Morgan Bellanger was the team leader in digs with 12. Freshman Alysia Kane had a good performance in this match, accounting for 6 kills to go along with 9 digs. Raeann Bombard led the team in assists again, accounting for 35 of the total 39. Bombard also had 5 kills and 7 digs in this match.
Following the weekend, the Timberwolves are now 12-7 on the season including 3-1 in conference and 7-6 in regional play. They will be back in action next on Wednesday October 9th when they will travel to face off against Hudson Valley Community College. Game time is set for 6:00 PM.
