Xiao Li retires from SUNY ADK Athletics
We bid farewell to head volleyball coach, Xiao Li. Coach Li started coaching in 2002 and after dedicating 18 years to SUNY Adirondack Volleyball, he has decided to retire at the completion of the 2019 season.
He was named Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference Coach of the Year in 2008, 2011, 2013 and 2014 and the NJCAA District A Coach of the Year in 2013. His coaching record at SUNY Adirondack stands at 275 – 175, an impressive .636 overall percentage.
He continually produced productive teams with many players named as Mountain Valley Conference and Region III NJCAA All-Stars.
In addition to coaching volleyball, Li served as the head coach for the men’s and women’s bowling program for 27 years and 9 years for the women’s soccer program.
Coach Li believed in education through athletic training to develop teamwork, discipline, and self-confidence. He believed a coaches role is to help student athletes to learn, to improve, and to reach their full athletic potential. Li will continue to serve the institution in his role as a professor for Physical Education.
We wish coach Li the best and thank him for his years of service to SUNY Adirondack.
