All Region Baseball
Region III recently voted on their All Region Team and 2 of our very own Timberwolves were honored with recognition!
Star shortstop Aaron Cook was honored after putting up a stellar season. He hit .374 on the season and led the team with 52 hits. His bat did plenty of damage throughout the season, but his defense provided even more value to the team, if that is possible. He saved dozens of runs with his quickness, agility and arm strength through the season, much to the joy of the pitching staff. Many times he turned would be RBI singles into ground outs and ended scoring opportunities with miraculous double play starts with his partner in crime, Greg Johnson.
The ace of the Timberwolves' staff, Ben Marsh, was also honored. Marsh led the team in innings pitched, complete games, hits per innings pitched and ERA. Every time Coach Job needed a big game thrown he called the big lefty's number and wasn't disappointed. Marsh pitched a gem against ranked Bergen early in the season, allowing only 1 unearned run, beat Fulton-Montgomery on the road and then beat Jefferson at home with a 9 strikeout performance. The highlight of his award winning season was his performance at Columbia-Greene, where he made history with the first perfect game in program history. Perhaps equally impressive was his dominance of Hudson Valley in a late season, playoff atmosphere at Joe Bruno Stadium. Pitching with the 3 seed on the line, he dominated the offense, including Player of the Year Jackson Wenstrom, to spin a shutout in a gutsy performance. The most impressive part of his season was that he is just a freshman.
Congratulations to our All Region honorees!
