Baseball Picks Up 4 For 2018-19
Coach Job had a busy day over the weekend and his roster was greatly improved through the process.
Timberwolves Baseball added four student-athletes to the program on Accepted Student Day, a campus event that brings accepted students onto campus to receive advising and be onboarded into the college experience.
Connor Nichols out of Corinth High will join the pitching unit and add a left handed option for the coaching staff. Connor was a captain and leader for Corinth his senior season after being named an Adirondack League All Star his junior year.
Zachary Malek signed with SUNY Adirondack after a standout career at Schenectady High School. The 6'0'' pitcher/ third baseman plays travel baseball with the Schenectady Cyclones and finished his spring season with a 3.13 ERA and 13 strikeouts in 15. 2 innings pitched. He has swing and miss stuff on the mound and will be an asset to the Timberwolves in 2018-19.
South Glens Falls produced two newcomers for Coach Job, Joe Battista and Hunter Anderson. Anderson was the ace of South's staff and was awarded the Cy Young Award from the team at the end of their season. Anderson fired a no hitter against rival Glens Falls to cap his season and will compete for a starting spot in the rotation this coming season.
The 5'11'' Battista is an infielder who will be transferring in from SUNY Plattsburgh after logging 21 at bats his freshman year with the NCAA Division III program. He earned a spot with the Cardinals after being named a Foothills Council All Star his senior year with South Glens Falls.
