Brase Spins Gem In Win
The Timberwolves were looking for a way to end their skid when Josh Brase raised his hand... or his pitching arm to be more exact... and volunteered to take care of that immediately. He baffled the Bergen batters all day as he pitched his way through 7 innings, while allowing only 5 runs, 3 earned and struck out 7 hitters. It was just what the team needed and put them back in the win column after losing every game since defeating the 3rd ranked Northampton team to start their season.
Brase wasn't alone though, as he had plenty of assistance from his potent lineup. Erik Wettersten led the offense with 3 hits including 2 doubles, 2 stolen bases, 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Aaron Cook wasn't far behind with a 2 for 2 day with a double, 2 walks and 2 runs scored. Ramon Acosta also found a gap for a 2 run double and later scored himself to cap a 4 run third inning.
The 7th inning got a little dicey as Brase looked to complete the win, but Brase induced the ground out from the potential tying run and collected the win.
Coach Casey Job gave way to Coach Cam LaBarge for this game and saw Coach LaBarge collect his first career win as a head coach of record!
The Timberwolves are back at it on the 15th against Region III rival Onondaga.
