Dutchess jumped out to a big lead after 1 inning and rode it to a win over the Timberwolves in the first game of their double header.
The Timberwolves put up 2 runs in the top of the 1st inning, but Dutchess roared back as they were able to hang a crooked number on starter Eric Corhouse. They scored 4 runs with only 1 out before Coach Job went to the bullpen and called in Zach Vavasour. Unfortunately the bleeding would continue as they hit a 3 run home run off of the reliever to cap an 8 run inning.
The offense showed a lot of mettle as they chipped away and were within 2 runs going into the bottom of the 5th, but Dutchess put the game away with a 3 run 5th and 3 run 6th to take the game 15 to 7.
Aaron Cook, Matt Zita and Ramon Acosta each had 2 singles in the contest. Jordan Prehoda collected 2 walks and Greg Johnson knocked a single and drew a walk.
The Timberwolves play the second game of the double header immediately.
