Dutchess Rides Early Lead to Win
Dutchess jumped out to a 4 to 0 lead after 2 innings and rode that lead to a 6 to 1 victory over the Timberwolves.
Josh Brase pitched very well in his 4 and a third innings of work. 2 uneared runs came across in the first on an error and wild pitch and 2 more were plated in the 2nd inning on a softly hit fly ball that fell in and an error to put him in a hole early. He was relieved in the 5th inning after a walk and error clogged the bases. Greg Johnson allowed 1 of those runs to cross on a sacrifice fly, but pitched out of the quagmire with only 1 run scoring. Ben Marsh faced two batters with a walk and fly out before Josh Curri-Brimhall came in and struck out his only batter. The 6th run came across on a passed ball.
The Timberwolves offense went cold after being red hot for the past few games, with the exception of Jordan Prehoda. Prehoda ended the contest 2 for 3 with two doubles. The lone run was driven in by Vincent Valenti in the 6th inning after a double by Matt Zita.
The Timberwolves next play Utica College's JV program on April 7th.
