Raiders Take Split
After taking the first game of the double header the Timberwolves allowed the Raiders to get out to a 6-0 lead through 5 innings, which would be just enough to survive the comeback bid in the 6th to take the 7 to 4 victory and series split.
The offense woke up in the 6th inning and gave the home crowd something to cheer for as Greg Johnson led off with a roped single, followed by a double down the line by Jordan Prehoda to set up the bottom of the lineup to start reeling the game back in. Jared Winkle picked up an RBI and John Stewart crushed a single to right field for another run. Ramon Acosta and Erik Wettersten followed suit with lazers to the outfield grass for RBI's, bringing the score to 4-6 before the inning ended.
FMCC would pick up a run in the top of the 7th and survive a valiant effort from the Timberwolves in the bottom of the inning despite a lead off double from Matt Zita to get the win.
The Timberwolves next play on Tuesday, May 8th at Hudson Valley in the final regular season contest of the year before moving into Regional play.
