Baseball Walk-Off In Nail-Biter Against Mohawk Valley

The rain held off for game two of the baseball series with Mohawk Valley. It was a low scoring game that came down to the wire. The Hawks put a run on the board in the first inning. Adirondack's John Wilsey tripled in the bottom of the third inning, helping the Timberwolves tie the game. Left fielder, Kyle Kristel and catcher, Riley Montanye prolonged the game for Adirondack when Mohawk Valley singled to left field advancing their teammate home. The throw to home plate was accurate and the tag allowed Adirondack one more chance at the plate in the eighth inning. With Maldonado already on base, Wisley hit a walk-off homer to center field, clinching the win.
Xavier Garcia started on the mound for Adirondack. The southpaw allowed six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four. Brody Rogers came in relief for the Timberwolves giving up two hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Final score 3-1, Adirondack.
Adirondack sees conference opponent Hudson Valley in a doubleheader on Thursday.
