National #1 Herkimer Wins As Tempers Flare
Herkimer defeated the Timberwolves 80 to 59 in a game riddled with fireworks.
The Timberwolves came into this game with hopes of toppling the national #1 team and put up a good fight before Herkimer was able to put up a run and get out of Queensbury with a win. It was a chippy game as both teams received multiple technical fouls and there was a short moment where it appeared the benches would clear, but calm prevailed as the team was able to usher the offending party away from the action and return to playing basketball. Tony Green was assessed half of a double technical in the fray in which Herkimer's head coach also received a technical foul call. It was the messiest portion of what was a good game for most of the 40 minutes.
Demani Smith led the team in points with 17 and rebounds with 7. Shea Irish added 14, Elijah Davis was 5 for 8 from the field for 12 points and Mike Tillman was 4 for 7 from the field for 11 points.
The Timberwolves next play Friday, December 8th at Broome.
