Smith Has Monster Day In Win
The Timberwolves attacked early and often as they defeated the Cougars of Clinton, 89 to 81. The score is a little misleading as the Timberwolves held a 19 point lead at the half and the Cougars chipped away slowly throughouth the second half, although the game was never in jeopardy.
Demani Smith assured the victory with a monster game. The Cougars had no answer for his post presence as he poured in 35 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, which was actually off of his pace through the first half. He had 26 points going into the locker room. He scored on 16 field goals and 3 free throws in a punishing performance that also saw him block two shots, steal two passes and pick up a couple of assists while playing clean defense, only picking up one foul.
Mike Tillman continued his hot shooting streak as he hit on 6 of 9 shots including 5 of 5 from inside the three point line. He also knocked down 5 of 5 free throws to end the contest with 18 points.
Shea Irish woke up this game after taking a short break from being lights out. He connected on 6 of 11 shots, most noteworthy going 3 of 4 from deep to return to form. He rode the deep balls to 15 points.
Cam Jett added 10 points. Treyshan Bradley led the team in assists with 5 on a great passing night. The Timberwolves tallied 21 assists as a team.
The Timberwolves next play on the 28th at Fulton-Montgomery.
