Timberwolves Fall to Raiders
The Timberwolves fell to the Raiders of Fulton-Montgomery by a score of 83 to 65 on a night that saw Demani Smith collect another double-double in what has been a great season for him.
He led the Timberwolves in scoring with 12 points on 5 of 10 from the floor as well as rebounding with 11. He also blocked 3 more shots to pull within 4 of the Region III leader. He has been outstanding on the post block all year and is in the top 6 in several categories, including blocks, blocks per game, rebounds, rebounds per game, points and points per game.
Shea Irish was the only other Timberwolf in double figures with 11 points. Jac'Quan Thompson played extremely well in limited minutes as he supplied a burst of energy off of the bench in the second half. He attacked the basket relentlessly to the tune of 3 of 4 from the floor and 2 free throws to boot for 9 points. He also collected 2 steals and played excellent defense.
The Timberwolves next play rival Hudson Valley at home on Wednesday, January 31st.
