Timberwolves Fall to # 5 Mohawk Valley
The top 5 ranked Mohawk Valley Eagles hosted the Timberwolves and flexed their muscles early en route to a sizable victory.
The Timberwolves struggled through a disastrous first half that saw them score 5 points in the first 10 minutes of play to dig a crater sized chasm that they wouldn't be able to dig out of. The 13 point half was one of the lowest scoring halves in recent history for the green and gold.
Coach Haskell pulled out every trick in his arsenal to get his team going from early subs to entire unit changes, but to no avail as the home team took a 49 to 13 lead into the locker room.
If they could have started the game over it would have been a much better game as the Timberwolves paced the Eagles in the second half 44 to 49, mainly on the power of outstanding play from Chantz Baudoux off the bench who came in and settled the offense while hitting big shots. Baudoux dropped 3 of 3 from deep and tallied 10 points.
Cam Jett led the team in scoring with 11 on a very efficient shooting day. Jett shot 3 of 7 from the field, but 3 of 5 from behind the arc while leading the team in assists with 3.
Shea Irish notched 10 points and Treyshan Bradley led the team in rebounding with 4.
The Timberwolves sorely missed Demani Smith, who missed his second game with a minor lower body injury.
The Timberwolves next play North Country at home on Thursday, February 8th.
