Jett Drops Pay Load On Tompkins Cortland In Win
Cam Jett continued his exceptional play in a win over Tompkins Cortland.
He lit up the TC3 defense for 4 three point field goals in the first half and 14 total points to keep the home team within striking distance going into the locker room. The Panthers took a 3 point lead into the half.
That was when the Adirondack offense began to click on all cylinders. Jett poured in 21 total points to lead the team in scoring, but his passing may have influenced the game even more. He found teammates for buckets 7 times and found point blank attempts for lay up opportunities several more times that led to free throws. He also grabbed 4 rebounds, 2 of them offensive, and 3 steals.
Michael Tillman was Jett's equal as he dropped 20 points on an extremely efficient shooting day for the guard. Tillman was 7 for 10 from the floor, 4 of 7 from behind the arc and 2 of 2 from the charity stripe. He has been a great shooter all year, but was able to find open shots at a consistent rate against the Panthers defense. He also pocketed 6 rebounds.
Jacquan Thompson caught the shooters flu as well, going 7 for 9 for 15 points. His phsyical play helped the green and gold extend the lead in the second half as he picked up 5 rebounds and 2 blocks.
Demani Smith struggled to find his shot, but made up for it with a crushing presence around the basket. He blocked 6 shots and pulled in 12 rebounds to go with 13 points, almost all of which came in the second half.
The game was punctuated with a brilliant pass from Cam Jett to Demani Smith on the fast break that led to a thunderous dunk from the powerful Smith to the applause of a packed house with under 10 seconds to play.
The Timberwolves next play on Monday, February 12th against Schenectady at home.
