Timberwolves Go Streaking In Win Over Schenectady
The Schenectady County Royals made the short trip up the highway to finish their home and home series with the Timberwolves after taking a victory at their place earlier in the season. The Timberwolves snapped the broom in half emphatically to avoid the sweep behind the amazing play of Elijah Davis.
Davis got the start and did not disappoint as he broke the Royals defense down on nearly every trip down the court. He shot 7 for 12 from the floor, including 4 of 6 from beyond the arc and a perfect day from the charity stripe, for 22 points and displayed his brute strength on the boards by muscling down 9 rebounds to tie for the team lead with Demani Smith. He also picked up a big block on the defensive end and played great defense all night.
Smith narrowly missed a double-double with 15 points and 9 rebounds. He also added 3 more blocks to his impressive defensive resume. He sits 9th in the country in blocks per game.
Shea Irish added 12 points, but brought a ton of value to the game with his rebounding from the guard position. He ended the night with 8 rebounds.
Cam Jett continued his great play with 10 points and 5 rebounds. He was 2 of 5 from the three point line and 4 of 5 from the free throw line.
The Timberwolves next play a Valentine's Day matchup at Herkimer.
