Hollister Stars in Bowling Debut
The bowling team opened their season at Schenectady today. They traveled the short hike down I-87 to participate in the tournament that included Region III rivals Schenectady, Hudson Valley, Fulton Montgomery, Mohawk Valley and Herkimer.
Adrien Hollister stole the show from the very beginning. He put up a tournament leading 252 in his first game and barely slowed down as he broke 200 in 4 of his 6 games played to take 1st in the tournament and pace his team to a 3rd place finish. He followed his 252 with games of 236, 214, 148, 245 and 183 for a tournament leading 1,278. It was a tremendous beginning to his bowling career at SUNY Adirondack and a sign of things to come.
Michael Boyce wasn't far behind as he finished 3rd overall with a 6 game score of 1,230. Boyce broke 200 in 3 of his 6 games including having the leading score of 265 in his second game. As good as Hollister was, Boyce applied plenty of pressure today for the number one spot.
The Vermont State Champion, Cody Seaver followed them up with a 1,027. He started to really come on at the end of the tournament with 199-193 in his final two games.
Alex King followed the top three up with an 861 and ended on a sweet note as he poured in a 192 6th game. Joseph Comitini added a score of 808 to cement the third place finish.
