Timberwolves Struggle in Second Straight Day in Schenectady
The Timberwolves were back at it today after performing well yesterday in what Coach Li described as a preparatory two day event that would simulate the NJCAA National Championship later in the season and a great roster of competition including NCAA Division I programs Penn State, Canisius and New Jersey Institute of Technology as well as other 4 programs like William Paterson, Castleton, Rochester Institute of Technology, Georgian, Franklin Pierce and Westchester. It was certainly eye opening for the squad as they struggled with fatigue and found themselves in the bottom of the standings for much of the day.
Hollister started the tournament on the right foot as he put up a 231 to kick off game play. Unfortunately the second game would be a drop off for him as he came in at 184, trailing teammate Michael Boyce's 194. Hollister jumped back to the team lead in game 3, but his high of 192 signified the Timberwolves dropping into last place in the tournament. Cody Seaver regained his form in games 4 and 5 leading with 192 and 223 respectively.
Going into baker play they were trailing the field, but Coach Li was hopeful that they could catch several of the teams that were within distance, including 4 year program Franklin Pierce and Canisius, but the Timberwolves were only able to put together 1 200+ baker game out of their 10 and finished the tournament 17th of 17 teams.
