Trestick and Timberwolves Defeat Saints
Anders Trestick powered the Timberwolves to a 3-1 victory over North Country.
Coach Ramirez got back on the road after a victorious endeavour over the weekend against Jefferson County with a trip into Andirondack Park to face off against North Country. The teams started off evenly matched and fought for field position for much of the first half before Jack Fitzpatrick found Anders Trestick in front of the opposing goal for a cleanly struck goal to give the Timberwolves a 1-0 lead going into half time. The teams would again lock horns to start the second half with both teams beginning to find weaknesses in the opposing defenses and putting forth solid attacks. Trestick would strike first in the second half off of an end around attack from the left side of the goal to put SUNY ADK up by 2 goals, but North Country would eat into that lead in the final 15 minutes of play with a goal of their own. For most of the game the Timberwolves defense held the line against the Saints attack, due in large part to the superb efforts of Kyle Suchan, Kalab Helms and Bailey Dray combined with the near shutout from Eli Goewen. The game would be finished off by a third goal from Anders Trestick in the waning 90 seconds of play to give him the hat trick for the day.
The Timberwolves next play Hudson Valley at home on Wednesday.
