Timberwolves Open Preseason at Plattsburgh
Coach Ramirez and the Timberwolves visited Plattsburgh to open their preseason and get prepared for the Region III season.
The team put up a great showing against the NCAA Division III opponent, giving the coaching staff plenty to look forward to this season. Starting goal keeper Brenden Rodd saved 9 shots, but allowed the opening goal on a penalty kick and another goal late in the first half as the Cardinals utilized their field position to score from close range.
Ethan Otoupal took over in the net for the second half and played very well, saving 8 shots and only allowing 1 goal.
The defense looked season ready as newcomers Anthony Cardenas and Opeyemi Agosa protected the goal box for most of the day and returner Kalab Helms looked to be in mid season form as he flew all over the field to make plays.
The offense showed signs of life in the second half as a beautiful pass from Cardenas found the feet of Debrasco Dorvilma for a great scoring opportunity, but the shot attempt was saved by the Cardinal goal keeper despite being struck well by "Bumba."
The Timberwolves open their season at home on September 3rd against Onondaga.
