SUNY Adirondack Men's Soccer opened their 2024 season at home hosting regional opponent Erie Community College. It was also the first game for the newly appointed head coach, Robb MacDonald. He's hoping his extra efforts recruiting make an impact and propel the team beyond where the program hasn't been in some time.
Although it took some time for the Timberwolves to settle in, once they found their groove, the goal production took off. Emiliano Nicasio stuck first at the 40:00-minute mark of the first half off an assist by Jose Canas. The Timberwolves took over the game in the second half. A second goal, at the 50:00-minute mark was headed in by Gabriel Hart from Jose Canas's second assist of the game. Emiliano Nicasio struck again, and again, scoring a hat trick at the 55 and 65-minute marks, each assisted by Timmy Motsiff. The final goal found the back of the net off the foot of Mahamadou Sillah, with an assist from Amari Morrison. Overall, the team had eleven shots on goal. Adirondack goal keeper Sebastian Maynard saved each of the six shots Erie fired.
Final score: Adirondack 5-0
Adirondack is on the road Wednesday, September 11 taking on conference rival Fulton Montgomery.
