Coon, Flint Power Victory Over Jefferson
The Timberwolves had to relocate indoors to get their scheduled contests against Jefferson in, but made the most out of it in the first game.
It was icy and chilly outside, but the bats were on fire in the dome. Danielle Flint and Kaylee Coon provided the offensive fire power to outlast the Cannoneers with two no doubters. Coon's 2 run long ball capped a 4 run first inning for the green and gold after Bailey Hasemann, Elizabeth Richards and Hannah Salmon singled in the inning. Flint led off the 3rd inning with a blast of her own to open the flood gates to another 4 run inning. Carly Hildenbrandt walked and Kait Sarti singled before being driven home on Kiersten Brown's RBI single. Elizabeth Richards then drove in Brown with a single of her own. Hasemann and Hannah Salmon walked and singled respectively in the big inning.
Hasemann allowed 1 run in each of the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th innings, but never let the Cannoneers get any momentum towards a rally.
Richards, Salmon and Sarti collected 2 hits each to lead the team in hits and Coon stole two bags to complement her home run.
The Timberwolves next play the second game of the double header against the Cannoneers.
