Softball Trounces Niagara

Feeling confident, Adirondack Softball played game two of their doubleheader against Niagara on Saturday. Although Niagara got on the board first, Adirondack recaptured the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the second inning after Samantha Manning singled, Lilliam Slattery walked, Manning stole home and Maddy Wasserman singled, each scoring one run. The Timberwolves added to their lead in the bottom of the third after Slattery singled, Aubreigh DeMello singled, Maddie Pincheon walked, and DeMello scored after tagging up, each scoring one run. Adirondak piled up twelve hits. Slattery, Marissa Jarvis and Pincheon each collected two hits. Paeton Butler went 1-for-2 at the plate, leading the team with two runs batted in. The Timberwolves stole seventeen bases in the game.
Manning earned the win for Adirondack. The lefty surrendered six hits and three runs over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking four. Wasserman collected the save facing two batters, striking out one. Final score 12-3, Adirondack
The Timberwolves don't travel far when they take on Erie on Sunday in a regional doubleheader.
