Sardina's Monster Night Not Enough
Sardina's 17 points and 19 rebounds were not enough to defeat the Vikings.
The Lady Timberwolves took the short drive down I-87 to do battle with the Vikings of Hudson Valley and brought plenty of offensive weaponry, but not quite enough to come away with the win. In what could be considered the best offensive game of the year all around for the Timberwolves, no one stood out more than sophomore Kaicey Sardina. She dominated the Viking defense to the tune of 17 points on a very economical 11 field goal attempts, collecting 6 points from the charity stripe. Even more impressive was her aggressiveness on the boards as she came away with both defensive and offensive rebounds all night ( 11 and 8 respectively ) and ended the night with an astouding 19 rebounds despite fighting through traffic for many of them. She also tallied 3 steals and a 3 to 1 assist to turnover ratio on the night.
While she was the headliner, she was far from the only big performance. Kylee Brand continued her outstanding play with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals. She knocked in 2 of her 4 three point attempts and also added a block and an assist to her stat line. Brianna McKinney followed her with 17 points on the night and a solid 7 rebounding total.
Keishla Hernandez made her debut after battling through an illness and found the bottom of the net twice for 4 points and grabbed 2 rebounds.
The Timberwolves next play at home on Saturday the 18th against Fulton Montgomery.
