Fulton Montgomery Steals Victory
Fulton Montgomery topped the Timberwolves 53 to 64.
The Timberwolves started off hot against the winless Fulton Montgomery squad, but it wouldn't be enough to come away with a victory. The home team was up 16 to 13 at the end of the first quarter, but the Raiders came back on some clutch deep ball shooting to grab a 3 point lead going into the locker room.
The third quarter would be the undoing for Coach Quattrocchi's squad as they were outscored 6 to 14 and the lead was extended to 11 which the Raiders would never give back.
The Timberwolves were the victim of some unlucky calls as twice it appeared they would be heading to the line after a shooting foul and they were given the ball out of bounds instead. Once Brianna McKinney was fouled on a 3 point attempt and again she was fouled under the basket on a lay in attempt later in the quarter. That 5 point swing could have drastically altered the contest, but as it stood they were on the losing end of the battle.
McKinney's 12 points trailed only Kaicey Sardina who had 13 for the team lead in points. Alexis Smith added 10 points on a hot shooting night for her. She connected on 2 three point field goals and was a perfect 2-2 from the charity stripe. Kylee Brand added another double double to her resume with 12 points and 12 rebounds. She also led the team in assists.
The Timberwolves have a long break to enjoy their Thanksgiving holiday before playing again on the 29th at Mohawk Valley.
