Timberwolves Trounce Cougars
The Timberwolves hosted the Cougars of Clinton today and made short work of the last place squad. The Cougars put up a fight in the first quarter, keeping pace with the home team to the tune of 18-18, but that would quickly dissolve as the Cougars would not score double digits in any of the final three quarters.
The Timberwolves opened up the margin to 35-24 at the half and cruised in the final two quarters. The final score was 81 to 34.
Kylee Brand led the offense with 17 points and grabbed 7 boards. Lacey Cormie rode three 3 point field goals to 13 points while filling out the stat sheet. She added 4 steals, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks to her totals. Kaicey Sardina collected 12 points and barely missed a rare form of triple-double with 9 steals and 9 rebounds. Brianna McKinney had her mid range shot on point and shot 5 of 10 from the floor for 11 points and displayed her rebounding skills with 9 boards.
Gwyn Gaulin had a career night as she peppered the Cougar defense with three pointers, going 3 of 4 from behind the arc.
The Timberwolves next play at Fulton-Montgomery on the 28th.
