Saints Take Season Series
The Saints of North Country traveled from Adirondack Park down to Queensbury to attempt a season sweep of the Timberwolves and were able to secure the victory and the sweep.
The Timberwolves fell behind 13 to 21 in the first quarter and never recovered from the slow start. The Saints kept the spread even, taking a 33 to 42 lead into the locker room, but extended it to 52 to 68 in the third quarter and finished with a final score of 85 to 66.
SUNY Adirondack only played 6 in this contest with the starting 5 and sixth woman Lacey Cormie logging every minute of play. Cormie played great off the bench hitting 4 three point field goals for 12 points. Alexis Smith was hot from behind the arc as well, going 3 of 6 and collecting 11 points. Brianna McKinney wasn't far behind with 10 points. Kylee Brand led the team in scoring with 16 and narrowly missed a double-double, ending her streak, with 9 rebounds. She was 5 of 10 from the floor and 5 of 6 from the charity stripe.
Kaicey Sardina was the engine for the Timberwolves tonight. She was 5 of 10 from the floor for 12 points and grabbed 10 boards while playing excellent defense and anchoring the attack for Coach Quattrocchi.
The Timberwolves next play at home versus Tompkins Cortland on Saturday, February 10th.
