Timberwolves Fall to Generals
The Timberwolves fought hard, but couldn't keep pace with the Generals in tonight's Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference matchup. They jumped out to an early lead, 20-16, but saw it disappear in the second quarter and grow to a 67-57 deficit by the time the final buzzer rang out.
They played without guard Ashley Caba and the absence was noteworthy, because Coach Quattrocchi plays a 6 deep rotation on most nights so Kate Bourdeau was pressed into bigger minutes than she has seen this season. She played well as she went 2-4 from the field and picked up 3 rebounds in Caba's absence.
The green and gold had a balanced attack on offense that saw very strong rebounding days from several players. Kaicey Sardina led the team in rebounding with 15 after having 23 in her last contest. Brianna McKinney has become a complete player as the season has worn on, picking up 11 rebounds to go with her team leading 19 points. Kylee Brand wasn't far behind with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
The Timberwolves have a little break before their next contest, February the 22nd, which will be Sophomore Appreciation Night and the final home game of the season.
