Lady Timberwolves Bring Home Road Victory
The Lady Timberwolves brought home a win on the road at Jefferson Community College.
Coach Votra was steering his Lady Timberwolves through rough waters as the season began with a tough schedule of opponents, but the ship appears to have braved the storm and emerged into smooth waters as he sailed to Jefferson and came home with a bounty, namely 2 goals and a win. After not finding the back of the goal in the prior 2 contests, the strikers made up for lost time against the Jefferson defense as they peppered the net twice. Hannah Gould had been striking the ball well all season and could easily have had 3 goals to her name coming into this contest, but no hypothetical necessary tonight as she beat the goal keeper for her first goal of the young season. Lauren Vetter had been playing equally as well through her first 2 matches and her blazing speed came to fruition in the form of her first goal of the season as well. Defenders find it difficult to keep up with her speed and agility in the box and tonight was no different as she put a goal on her stat sheet. Wasana Fleming and Emily Vetter assisted the goals and goal keeper, Kaylee Coon, turned the offense away on all but one attack. Despite the high scores of the prior contests, Coon had been defending the goal admirably and has collected over 30 saves in 3 games on the young season.
The Lady Timberwolves next travel to North Country on the 11th.
