Lady Timberwolves Get Win on Sophomore Night
The soccer team defeated Dutchess 2-0 on Sophomore Night.
Today's match against Dutchess was draped in ceremony as the sophomores were celebrated before the contest and at half time. Those sophomores would play a large part in a big victory over Region III opponent Dutchess with their parents cheering them on from the stands.
Sophomores Lauren Vetter, Hannah Gould, Kayla Bizon, Abby Dickinson, Sara Tarraran-Casella and Lexie Storm filled up the stat sheet with a combined 21 shot attempts including both goals and the lone assist. Lauren Vetter found the goal at the 21 minute mark to put the team up 1-0, which was supplemented by a textbook assist from Kayla Bizon down the line to an attacking Hannah Gould who put the finishing touches on the win at the 13 minute mark. Abby Dickinson and Lexie Storm led the defensive efforts that held the shutout and only asked star keeper Kaylee Coon to save 3 shot attempts on the night.
Tarraran-Casella had 2 near misses at the goal that brought the crowd to their feet and charged up the Timberwolves bench.
Everyone here at SUNY Adirondack would like to extend a thank you to all of our sophomores and their supporting crew, especially the parents. We appreciate all you do for Timberwolves Athletics and you will always be Timberwolves!
The Lady Timberwolves next play at Cayuga on Saturday the 14th.
