Genesee Tames the Timberwolves
Genesee defeated the Timberwolves 3 sets to 1.
The second match of their 3 match day was a closely contested battle between two evenly matched opponents. Each of the 4 sets was within 3 points, unfortunately 3 of those sets would go the way of Genesee, leaving the home team with a loss. The first set was a back and forth affair as each team had momentum for a hand full of points at a time before the points would start to swing the other direction and the final swing gave Genesee a 25 to 22 win. The second set was even closer as Maya Phillips and Isabella Shrestha chipped away at the defense and Kaicey Sardina seemingly dug every ball that came across the net, but the set would go to the visiting team 26 to 24. The third set would be the only set won by SUNY Adirondack as the 4th and final set would seal the deal for match.
Isabella Shrestha and Maya Phillips continued their offensive outburst with 6 and 8 kills. Shrestha added an ace, 2 blocks and a block assist to her stat line. Phillips collected an ace as well, but shown on both offense and defense as she shared a block assist and dug 17 balls, saving numerous points. This match seemed to wake Tylor Graham up as she produced 13 kills and 20 digs to lead both categories. Graham got better as the day went along.
This was the second match of a 3 match day for the Timberwolves. They take on Monroe in the final match of their day.
