Timberwolves Battle Monroe
The Timberwolves battled Monroe in the third game of their 3 match day, falling 3 sets to 1.
In their third and final match of the day SUNY Adirondack took on powerhouse program Monroe. Monroe came into the contest with a break in between games and their fresh legs proved to be the difference in the match as the Timberwolves had just finished a 4 set match with Genesee after completing a 5 set win earlier in the day against Finger Lakes. After nearly 400 points played there was a noticeable difference in the height of jumps and quickness of first steps even early in the match and Monroe would have no mercy as they attacked consistently. Monroe finished the first set with a 6 point win and followed that up with a 13 point win in set 2. The Timberwolves would return to form in the third set, mostly on the great defensive efforts of Tylor Graham and Isabella Perroncino who dug nearly 50 balls combined for the match. After pulling out a 2 point victory in set three, Monroe would regain form and put it away in the 4th by a score of 17 to 25.
Tylor Graham was an energy boost during the match as she seemed to be everywhere on defense and it showed in her dig total of 27. She also blocked 2 balls and killed 8, continuing her dual threat form from the previous match. Isabella Perroncino also had a great game from the libero position as she dug 19 balls and kept the team in sets.
The Timberwolves next match will be Wednesday, the 13th at North Country Community College.
