Volleyball Drops Match to Erie
Erie defeated the Lady Timberwolves 3 sets to 1.
The Timberwolves were back at action immediately following a straight sets victory over Niagara to take on Erie. This was Erie's first match of the day and their fresh legs were a major advantage as they were able to win the first set in a closely contested affair, 25 to 20. The long set following their win over Niagara took a toll on the Lady Timberwolves as the second set was a walk in the park for Erie with Adirondack offering no resistance to the tune of 25 to 9.
Coach Li would get his team back on track in the third as the offense picked up, led by Victoria Bruni who seemed to find her mojo during this match. With the help of her teammates, Bruni delivered a 25 to 20 victory in the third set and went into the fourth hoping to carry that momentum over.
Despite a great defensive effort, Erie captured the fourth set 25 to 15 and took the match. Kaicey Sardina once again showed a penchant for digging attacks as she led the team with 25. Victoria Bruni added 24 digs to her team leading 7 kills and 2 aces while Tylor Graham and Maya Phillips combined for 37 digs.
The Timberwolves will finish their 3 match POD play day after a long break as they will lock horns with Jamestown.
