Volleyball Routs Generals
The Timberwolves routed the Generals in straight sets with big sets early.
The Timberwolves looked healthy and ready to play from the onset of this one! Isabella Shrestha picked up a huge block very early in the first set and that set the tone for the rest of the match. Shrestha would lead her team to a 25-13 first set win with 4 kills and 3 blocks and it only got better from there. She would add 4 more kills in an even more dominant second set that would see the stingy defense of SUNY ADK give up only 9 points. The Generals made the third set more competitive and pushed it to extra points before Kaicey Sardina ended the match with a walk off ace to the right side of the court.
Shrestha would end the match with 12 kills and 4 blocks. Breanna MacDuff had a tremendous match as well setting up many of the kills with excellent passing and adding 6 kills and 4 aces to the offensive attack. The aforementioned defense was led by Kaicey Sardina who continues to excel in the libero role and collected a team leading 23 digs, pacing Maya Phillips and Victoria Bruni who had 19 each.
The Timberwolves next play Saturday the 23rd in POD play at Corning. They will match up with host Corning, Tompkins Cortland and Broome.
