Timberwolves Dominate Rival Hudson Valley
Coach Li's squad dominated the visiting Hudson Valley Vikings, notching the win in straight sets.
Victoria Bruni and Morgan Bellanger took turns finding open spots on the opposite hard wood in the first set as the home team took the 25 to 17 victory. Bruni and Bellanger each had 3 kills in the set.
The second set had a larger margin of victory as they marched to a 25-11 set behind the heavy hitting of Karley Hertzner who killed 3 points in the set en route to 7 total. She also had 5 aces and a block on the day to lead the team in points.
It was more of the same in the third set as the Timberwolves ended the match with a 25 to 11 third set victory. Morgan Bellanger and Victoria Bruni teamed up to do most of the damage with 4 kills each in the set. Bellanger and Bruni both ended their nights with 9 kills.
Breanna MacDuff, who was named NJCAA Region III Player of the Week, assisted on 30 kills to continue her blistering pace. Leah Bowen was the defensive cornerstone as she dug 17 balls from the libero position.
The Timberwolves next play at home on Friday, September 21st versus North Country before hosting POD play on Saturday the 22nd.
