Timberwolves Handle Word of Life
Word of Life made the trip down I-87 to face off with the Timberwolves and were turned away with a loss in under an hour. In one of the shortest matches of the season Coach Li's squad defeated their opponent in straight sets in 55 minutes, 25-8, 25-11, 25-15.
Morgan Bellanger was hot in the first set as she killed 3 points and picked up a block to lead the home team to a quick victory and get the match started off on the right foot. The second set was more of the same as she led the team with 4 more kills and continued into the third set with 3 additional points.
Breanna MacDuff pushed up 22 assists to continue her assault on the national leaderboard and Leah Bowen dug 16 balls as she climbs the total digs and digs per set leaderboard at the national and regional level.
MacDuff came into the match 12th in assists and 9th in assists per set in the NJCAA. Bowen came in 11th in total digs and 7th in digs per set. Karley Hertzner is also in the top 25 in several categories including hitting percentage, aces, blocks and total points.
The Timberwolves next play on Saturday the 29th in POD play at Hudson Valley. They will take on Jefferson, Cayuga and Onondaga with a chance to cement their place in the Region III playoffs.
