Timberwolves Use Team Effort to Defeat Mohawk Valley
The Timberwolves traveled west to Utica to take on Mohawk Valley in Mountain Valley Collegiate Conference play yesterday and came away with a hard fought "W."
The first set was a nail biter as the green and gold battled down to the wire with a 25 to 23 victory. They used that momentum to drive through the second set 25 to 20, but found themselves in another fight in the third set. Behind the outstanding play of Victoria Bruni they were able to hold on and drop the Eagles in three sets with a 25 to 22 victory in the third. Bruni led the team in kills and digs with 12 kills and 14 digs. She added 2 service aces and a block to her resume as she guided her team to victory.
Breanna MacDuff returned to form after a couple of sub par, for her, matches with 32 assists. Leah Bowen tied for the team lead in digs with 14 and Karley Hertzner continued her dominant freshman season with 8 kills, 2 service aces and 3 blocks.
The Timberwolves next play Paul Smith's at home on Saturday, October 6th.
