SUNY Adirondack goes 0-1-1 with Herkimer
The SUNY Adirondack Baseball team took a loss and then managed a tie this afternoon against the #7th ranked Herkimer Generals.
The first game finished as a 5-3 win for the Generals who put up 5 early runs in the first inning. The Timberwolves were able to cut into the lead in the fifth inning when a Brent McGhee double scored two runs, but that would be the end of the comeback.
The second game of the afternoon would end in a 10-10 tie after the seventh inning. The Timberwolves got out to and early lead, scoring 4 in the first inning. Herkimer would come back to take a 5-4 lead in the top of the fifth. The Timberwolves had an answer for the Generals comeback, scoring 6 runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 10-5 lead. A lead that would slip away over the next two innings, giving up 2 in the sixth and then 3 more in the top of the seventh to tie the game. The game would be called at the end of the seventh due to a lack of sunlight.
After these games today, the Timberwolves now sit at 10-18-1 on the season and 7-6-1 in conference play.
The Timberwolves will be back in action on Tuesday, April 23rd when they will travel to face off against Cayuga Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM.
