Women's Soccer Splits Weekend Play

Adirondack Women’s Soccer split their weekend games with Finger Lakes and Genesee. They opened up with Finger Lakes on Saturday. Rylee Dunbar put the first goal in the net, during the first half of play, off an assist from Sarah Whitman. Tori Granger and Cheyanne Morrill each found the goal in the second half with assists from Madison Pincheon and Alyssa Crossman, respectively. The Timberwolves put good pressure on the Lakers but only converted 3 of the 14 shots on goal. Cheyenne Shufelt saved the 2 shots the Lakers sent her way. Final score, 3-0 Adirondack.

The Timberwolves faced tougher completion on Sunday when they took on Genesee Community College. The Cougars held a 2-0 lead the majority of the game but clinched the game with a goal with just minutes remaining. Cheyenne Shufelt held off the Cougar’s pressure saving 8 of the 11 shots. Adirondack only had two opportunities to take a shot. Final score, 3-0 Genesee.
Adirondack has the week off but will be back on the turf hosting Onondaga Community College on Sept 16 at 1pm.
