Errors Sink Timberwolves
The Timberwolves, coming off a big win in the first game, were looking for a big start from Ben Marsh and he held his own against the Westchester offense.
Marsh fell behind in the 2nd inning, but limited the damage to 1 run after wiggling out of trouble. Jared Winkle would supply the early power and tie the game up in the 3rd inning with a solo bomb, the first Timberwolves home run of the season. Ramon Acosta and Jared Winkle would give Marsh a lead in the 4th with RBI singles a piece.
Westchester would plate a run in the 5th and knock Marsh out of the game at 4 and 2/3 innings, 2 earned runs and 5 strikeouts. Eric Corhouse induced the fielder's choice to end the inning. Jared Winkle drove in another run in the 6th inning in a huge night for him as his bat seemed to hold a combination of Norse hammer and Greek thunder.
Unfortunately 3 errors in the 6th inning would lead to 5 runs and the end of the battle for the green and gold, but they got the split at Westchester and the bats are really heating up.
Winkle ended the day 3 of 3 with a home run, 3 RBI and a run scored. Jordan Prehoda went 3 of 3 with a run and Ramon Acosta plated 2 and scored run on 2 hits in 3 at bats. Corhouse took the loss, but wasn't helped by his defense in his 1.1 innings of work. He gave up 3 hits a walk and 2 earned runs to go with the three errors made behind him.
The Timberwolves next play at Dutchess on Saturday, March 31st.
