Baseball Drops Tight Game To Northern Essex

The Timberwolves matched up against Northern Essex Community College after an exciting win the night before. It was a back-and-forth game. Both teams put three runs on the board in the first inning. Adirondack's Thomas McKay singled, scoring two runs and a hit by Jared Potter, scored the third run. Kyle Kristel singled in the top of the fourth inning, tying the game at four each. Potter homered to left field tying the game again at five in the top of the sixth. Northern Essex had the last word putting up three runs in the bottom of the sixth. Adirondack couldn't counter and had to settle for the loss. Final score 8-5, Northern Essex
Caleb Nelson started on the mound for Adirondack. The right-handed pitcher allowed six hits and five runs (four earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking seven. Dylan Cavanaugh came into the game in relief, facing eight batters.
The Timberwolves accumulated nine hits in the game. Kristel set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Adirondack with two hits in four at bats. Potter and McKay each drove in two runs. Adirondack stole three bases.
The Timberwolves wrap up their Spring Break trip when they take on Prairie State College in a double-header on Thursday.
