Cayuga Gets Win Over Baseball

SUNY Adirondack Baseball hosted Cayuga Community College in their home opener on Saturday. The Timberwolves got on the board first in the second inning off a Ryan Reagan sacrifice fly. Adirondack continued to accumulate points with a double from John Wilsey and a grounded out from Chino Maldanado, each scoring one run. Cayuga crept back in, taking the lead in the top of the fifth inning putting four runs on the board. The Spartans added a pair of runs in the seventh inning and Adirondack couldn't counter, allowing Cayuga the win. Final score 7-4, Cayuga
Caleb Nelson was on the hill first for Adirondack. He surrendered five hits and five runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking three. Dylan Cavanaugh relieved Nelson giving up three hits and two runs, striking out two.
Kyle Kristel was 2-for-4 at the plate while Gabriel Barcia, Wilsey, Reagan and Maldonado each drove in one run for Adirondack.
