Second Inning Surge Propels Baseball Past Mohawk Valley
April 14
Queensbury, NY
After poor field conditions forced the cancellation of the April 13th games, Adirondack Baseball was on the field taking on conference opponent Mohawk Valley in a double header. The rain started to fall as soon as the first pitch was thrown. It didn't appear to have much of an impact on the Timberwolves performance. Adirondack got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after John Wilsey doubled, Gabriel Garcia singled, and Kai Brennan walked, each scoring one run. The excitement picked up for Adirondack in the second inning when the team scored eight runs. Wilsey singled, scoring one run, Garcia drew a walk, scoring one run, Jared Potter was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Ryan Reagan got a hit, scoring two runs, Kyle Kristel drew a walk, scoring one run, and Chino Maldonado doubled, scoring two runs.
Wilsey and Maldonado each had two hits. Wilsey, Garcia and Maldonado each collected two RBIs. Kristel and Potter each stole multiple bases.
Terel Tillman earned the win for Adirondack. The righty surrendered zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking one. Final score 11-0, Adirondack
