Baseball Fights Back In Loss To Herkimer

Adirondack Baseball was looking to bounce back after a tough loss but some errors by the Timberwolves allowed Herkimer to put some runs on the board early. Adirondack tied the game in the bottom of the third inning thanks to a sacrifice fly by Gabriel Garcia, a single by John Wilsey, a single by Chino Maldonado and a single by Riley Montanye. The Timberwolves took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Maldonado grounded out, scoring one run to give Adirondack the edge, 5-4. Herkimer tied the game in the top of the sixth inning but Jared Potter singled in the bottom of the sixth, scoring one run giving Adirondack a 6-5 lead. The Generals were able to put two more runs on the board in the top of the seventh to seal the win. Final score 7-6, Herkimer
Caleb Nelson opened the game for Adirondack. The righty surrendered four hits and fie runs over six innings, striking out five and walking five. Dylan Cavanaugh came in for relief going one inning, giving up two runs on one hit, striking out none and walking two. Adirondack stacked up 10 hits, led by Maldonado who had two runs batted in. Kyle Kristel stole two bases.
Adirondack's games at Herkimer were rained out on Sunday. Now the team waits for final Regional seeding to determine who they will face on Saturday.
