Fifth-Inning Burst Enough To Lead Niagara Past Baseball
May 11
Niagara Falls, NY
SUNY Adirondack Baseball earned a bid to compete in Regionals, securing the #4 seed in the eastern side of the standings. They faced #1 SUNY Niagara, in the cross-over, who clinched the top slot on the western side of the region.
Niagara opened up taking the lead 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning. Adirondack got on the board when Andrew Santa Barbara and Peyton Richardson each drove in one run in the fourth inning for the Timberwolves. Those runs would be all Adirondack could produce while the Thunderwolves would break open the game adding seven runs in the fifth, and two runs in the sixth, to take the win.
Gabriel Garcia, Kyle Kristel and Jared Potter each collected a hit for Adirondack while Richardson stole two bases.
Terel Tillman took the loss for Adirondack. The righty went four and one-thirds innings, allowing 10 runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out four and walking two. Brody Rogers offered relief for the Timberwolves. In one inning Rogers surrendered two runs on four hits, striking out one and walking zero. Final score 12-2, Niagara
