Timberwolves Fall 5-4 to Cayuga on Walk-Off in Second Game of Doubleheader

In a tightly contested game, the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves were edged 5-4 by Cayuga on Sunday, with the game ending on a walk-off in the bottom of the seventh inning. The score was tied at four when Diaz was hit by a pitch, driving in the winning run.
Despite out-hitting Cayuga 10-9, the Timberwolves came up short. Christian Mikulski, Cody Nelson, Tommy Bishop, and Ryan Reagan each had two hits for Adirondack in the game.
The Timberwolves got on the board early in the second inning with Reagan's solo home run to left field, followed by Aiden Parslow's RBI double to left.
SUNY Adirondack added two more runs in the top of the fifth. Peyton Richardson hit a sacrifice fly to score one, and Mikulski followed with a solo home run to left field to make it 4-3.
Cayuga regained the lead in the bottom of the seventh. Recio doubled to score two runs, and Diaz's hit-by-pitch brought in the walk-off run.
Knoll earned the win for Cayuga, pitching 2 2/3 scoreless innings in relief. He allowed just one hit, struck out three, and walked two. Ben Viggiani took the loss for the Timberwolves, allowing eight hits and five runs (four earned) over six and one-third innings. Viggiani struck out three and walked none. Cayuga's Maclean started the game, giving up nine hits and four runs over four and one-third innings, with two strikeouts and no walks.
For SUNY Adirondack, Richardson, Mikulski, Parslow, and Reagan each drove in a run. Cayuga's Recio had a standout performance, going 4-for-4 at the plate, and both Laird and Recio drove in two runs. D. Emilio contributed with two stolen bases as Cayuga finished the game with six stolen bases.
The Timberwolves look to bounce back again at Home with a rematch double-header vs Cayuga on April 3rd at 2:00 and 4:00 PM.
