Men's Basketball Stuns #14 Fulton-Montgomery for 6th Straight Win

The SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves men's basketball team achieved a significant victory Tuesday evening, defeating the nationally-ranked #14 Fulton-Montgomery in a thrilling, fast-paced matchup. The win propels the Timberwolves to an impressive 11-2 overall record, including a dominant 9-1 mark in regional play.
The game was a rollercoaster of momentum, with both teams exchanging leads throughout the first half and much of the second. However, SUNY Adirondack found its stride in the final minutes, pulling away from Fulton-Montgomery and securing the 114-103 victory. This marks the Timberwolves' sixth consecutive win, further cementing their standing as one of the top teams in the region.
Tyre Williams was the standout performer for Adirondack, finishing with 34 points, including four 3-pointers, and dishing out five assists. His scoring barrage kept the Timberwolves in control when it mattered most. Edgardo Sanchez contributed a stellar 22 points, adding nine assists to fuel the offense, while Mariano Dicaterino showcased his shooting touch, scoring 18 points on an efficient 5-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc.
With the win, Adirondack remains firmly in the hunt for a top playoff spot, and the team looks to continue its strong play this weekend. The Timberwolves will hit the road for a back-to-back weekend set, facing Onondaga at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, followed by a matchup with Jefferson Community College on Sunday, January 19, at 1 p.m.
